To hijack a line from Stephen Tobolowsky in “Groundhog Day”: Watch that first month, it’s a doozy! January was rough ‘round these parts and I’ve been struggling to get my creative juices flowing again.

My attempt of the day: a super cute Floor Turtle & a couple of matching Countertop Critters made from an old bathmat, some rescued cotton poplin, and bits from my scrap basket. Between the dog’s muddy footprints and two kiddos insistent on pouring their own drinks, our kitchen floor is always in need of a little love. You never realize how much a liter of oat milk *is* until it’s all over the floor 🙄. And while our counters don’t get quite the same workout, there are always drips by the kettle and crumbs near the toaster so I really had no reason not to make the minis, too. 🙂

My tension is really off and rethreading didn’t fix it so I opened her up. My last project before Christmas was 20 sets of festive felt coasters. I think I could make whole extra coaster out of this trapped fuzz! Also now thinking I probably should have been wearing a dust mask to sew them 😷 #oops #mykingdomforsomecannedair

Waxing up my first orders of 2026 and these cheery cherries are the clear favourite! Shame the fabric has been discontinued and I’m down to my last meter! 😫 #lifeisjustabowlofcherries #alsoachairofbowlies #roseandhubblefabrics #beeswaxwraps #easyswapstozerowaste

New to the stall! Is your favourite wax wrap in need of a little love? Grate or chop a teeny bit of this bar over it and pop it into a lined tray in a low oven. A refreshed wrap should last another year or so depending on use. These refresher bars contain a blend of beeswax, pine rosin, and jojoba oil. #refreshdontreplace #easyfix #easyecoswap #plasticfree

Look what just arrived! Our Bees and Poppies prints have been super popular lately and I was running quite low on both. Most of this fabric will be turned into our cool new Beeswax Bread Bags- coming soon to a loaf near you! 🥖 🐝 #plasticfree #shopsmall #berkomarket

In my personal life, my default color is blue. Shirts, socks, towels- you name it, it’s all always been blue (to my mother’s chagrin). That said, I do make an effort not to choose only blues for my wax wraps. My young apprentice helps with that as he’s a sucker for warm, bright colors.

But… it’s my birthday month so I’m introducing two beautiful blues to the family. These chickens are so stinkin’ cute! 🐓 😍

Both blues, plus all the rest will be at the Berkhamsted market this Saturday. Hope to see you there!
